The racing action at the Springfield Raceway will be back in high gear Saturday night, Sept. 15, with the running of the 12th Annual Larry Phillips Memorial as the speedway pays honor to Springfield's Larry Phillips.

Springfield Raceway owners Jerry Hoffman and Doug Bland have announced another night of exciting dirt track racing to the 2012 schedule.

Round 16 of the Transport Graphics Championship Chase will get underway Saturday night, Sept. 1, at the Springfield Raceway as drivers attempt to grab that first win of the season or better themselves in the final point standings.

With light mist and over 80% coming in by race time of wet weather, Springfield Raceway officials have cancelled Saturday night's event.

Jackie Dalton is hitting stride here late in the 2012 season as the five-time Springfield Raceway track champion took command from Mitch Keeter on lap 11 and survived some mid-race cautions in taking his fifth feature win of the season Saturday.

Currently, five-time and defending USRA Modified track champion Jackie Dalton has pulled to a 17-point advantage over 2010 track champion Mitch Keeter after last weekend's Back To School Night event.

With cooler temps and over 95 race teams in the pits, Springfield Raceway and Pepsi presented Back To School Night as veteran driver Stephen Muilenburg took advantage of the redraw to lead all 20 laps of the USRA Modified feature.

Springfield Raceway will be back in action on Saturday night, Aug. 11, with Back to School Night. Kids 12 and under will be admitted free in the grandstands, along with some special items for kids as school supplies will be offered along with other items and special deals.

Satruday night at the Springfield Raceway, current USRA Modified national points leader and defending national champion Johnny Bone Jr. made a surprise visit to Springfield and walked away with the feature win.

In USRA Modified action Saturday at the Springfield Raceway, former track champion Mitch Keeter took the lead from his outside front row starting spot and kept applying pressure in the championship chase by grabbing the 20-lap feature.

The Springfield Raceway is preparing for another of the can't miss special events as the running of the Summer Perry Memorial will be held on Saturday, July 21.
