The Midway Speedway provided plenty of excitement and action as the Action Track of The Ozarks hosted the 2nd Annual Larry Phillips Birthday Bash with over 135 race teams in the pits.

The Midway Speedway is getting ready for the 2nd annual Larry Phillips Birthday Bash on Friday night, July 11. The race, named in the honor of former great driving star Larry Phillips, is ran one week later than his birthday, which was July 3.

With over 100 cars in the pits and a capacity crowd to witness fireworks and racing action, five new drivers grabbed their first Midway Speedway wins of 2008. In the closing laps, Johnny Bone Jr. pulled away to capture his first ever Midway Speedway feature win.

The Midway Speedway will be providing plenty of bang-up action on Friday night, July 4, as a fireworks show will be included in the racing action as the new action track of the Ozarks will bring in America's birthday in grand style.

Action was fast and furious Friday night at the Lebanon Midway Speedway with 88 race teams in the pits along with an outstanding motocross stunt driving show by Team Faith riders Tim Wilson and Terry Russell.

Race fans can plan on staying in Lebanon, Mo., for the Fourth of July holiday weekend as both Lebanon race tracks will be offering plenty to choose from.

With rain forcing Friday night's action to be cancelled, officials made the decision to make up the race on Saturday night and the decision was a good one as 94 race teams checked into the pits with a quick and racy track.

With racing being cancelled Friday night, June 20, due to rain, the Midway Speedway will be racing a regular points show with regular payout on Saturday night, June 21. Friday's cancellation was the tenth this season, so with the I-44 Speedway not ready to open yet, this was a prime chance to help make up this rain-out.

While Mother Nature washed out the regular Friday night points show, Midway Speedway officials made the quick decision to run on Saturday night and it paid off well as 98 race teams were greeted with an excellent racing surface and many side-by-side battles all night long.

Heavy and torrid rains forced the Midway Speedway to cancel the racing action for the ninth time this season on Friday. Officials feel they can get the track ready for a Saturday night show on June 14, with racing action set to start at 7:30 p.m.
