Cummins, Walski winners during Dodge County Fair
KASSON, Minn. - Images By Design presented the races Sunday night at the Dodge County Speedway in Kasson, Minn. The night was spectacular weather wise for the final night of the 153rd Dodge County Free Fair with the pit area filled with 85 race cars and a handful of vintage cars.
Shaun Walski converted his WISSOTA Midwest Mod over to a USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mod and led every lap in a race that had six yellow flags. It was Walski’s second win at the track, but first in the USRA-sanctioned division.
Brandon Hare raced from the tenth starting slot and zoomed to second, passing Ben Moudry on lap 8. Hare finished second with Moudry third. Jeremy Schaufenbuel was fourth and Dain Schultz finished fifth.
Jacob Dahle led the first five circuits of the USRA RHS Modified feature. Then on lap 6, Jason Cummins worked the high line and made the pass for the lead. Cummins cruised from there for his second win this season.
Dahle finished second and Steve Wetzstein ended his charge through the pack in third. Jay Ihrke and rookie sensation Lucas Schott finished out the top five spots.
Next Sunday, July 25, will be the final regular season show at the Dodge County Speedway. It will be Fan Appreciation Night and will have double features for the WISSOTA Midwest Mods and USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods from the rain-shortened July 14 fair race.
The speedway will sit idle for the month of August and then come back to life on Sunday, Sept. 5, with the “Kasson Klash” with all classes in action along with the USMTS Modifieds in the Hunt for the National Championship. An added bonus will be the rained-out USMTS feature from July 14.
