USMTS National Tour scheduled changed; Three different tracks set for June 13-15

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa -- The United States Modified Touring Series is changing the National Tour schedule as some tracks have been suffering with economy changes and other have just said that at this time they are not interested in having the race, but will maybe try and reschedule the race at a later date. 24 Raceway Park in Moberly, MO has decided that this was not the time to have the race and this race will be moved to the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA on Friday June 13 th.

USMTS was scheduled to race at Donnellson in April and that race was rained out and promoter Terry Hoenig said he would be glad to reschedule that race for the National Tour on Friday.

The next race was to be held at the Winston Speedway in Winston, MO on Saturday June 14 th, but was told that Winston promoters decided they were not interested in the series stopping back at the speedway in 2003. So that date will move back to the Scotland County Fairgrounds in Memphis, MO.

USMTS has already raced at Memphis for the tracks first race of the season and promoter Terry Hoenig said that the track will be in a lot better shape this time for drivers and fans to see some great side by side modified racing. Sunday the series was set to invade the Linn County Raceway in Pleasanton, KS, but lack of crowds in the area have forced USMTS officials to move this race to the Eldon Speedway in Eldon, IA.

This will be the first ever visit to the Eldon Speedway and fans will be treated to some great modified racing on Sunday night. This race is scheduled for Sunday June 15 th, and will be right before the series moves to the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, IA. This will make the travel a lot more convenient for drivers and fans trying to make all the races with higher gas prices.

USMTS will cut off probably 400 miles of driving with these changes. Hopefully fans and drivers will see all these changes in time and be able to make these races. Donnellson and Memphis will run all the normal classes and Eldon will run stock cars $500 to win with the hobby stocks paying $300 to win.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and we hope to see everyone for the USMTS National Tour set for June 3-21 st at a track near you.
