Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track season canceled for resurfacing

XR and Texas Motor Speedway officials have announced the cancelation of the racing season at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.

All 2022 events at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track have been canceled, with a full track resurfacing project to commence this year. The Texas Weekend Series has been canceled.

“Our goal is always to produce the best racing product for fans and drivers alike,” said XR Chief Operating Officer Dan Robinson. “The Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track is the premier racing venue in the state of Texas and we’ll make sure to give our competitors and fans a world-class surface as well.”

This includes the following dates for the Texas Monday Series featuring USRA Modifieds and Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks: June 26-27, July 24-25, Aug. 21-22 and Sept. 5.

A full resurface and reshape will begin in 2022, with the addition of organic materials.

XR and Texas Motor Speedway have mutually agreed on these efforts in expectations of creating the most exciting and competitive racing possible and will be in the best interest of competitors and spectators alike.

Racing is scheduled to resume at the track in 2023.

Any advance purchases for any events previously scheduled in 2022 at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track will be automatically refunded.
