SPRING VALLEY, Minn. - The final race of the night Saturday at the Deer Creek Speedway saw the USRA Modifieds racing for $1,250 to win as Hanson Tire also put up $250 to the winner of this event.

Joel Alberts led lap 1 until Jeff Schluetter moved past him for the lead.

Jay Ihrke made his presence known early as he moved into second while Corey Dripps worked past Alberts for third with three laps down.

With 19 laps to go, Nate Wasmund had a hot ride and moved up to challenge Dripps for third. He took the position, and three laps later moved past Ihrke to take over second.

Kelly Shryock and Josh Angst raced for fifth with Jason Cummins on their heels.

Schluetter had pulled away slightly from the pack but Wasmund was now quickly reeling him in. With 10 laps to go, Wasmund powered in hard through turn 3 and coming out of turn 4 took the lead.

Late in the race, Shryock worked under both Schluetter and Ihrke with Cummins also working past Ihrke.

At the line it was Wasmund out front for a comfortable win and his only regular season win of his career at the speedway.

Shryock, Schluetter, Cummins and Ihrke rounded out the top-5.

Heat wins went to Shryock, Dripps and Mike Sorensen.
