SPRING VALLEY, Minn. - Deer Creek Speedway is happy to announce its 2008 racing calendar for the Southern Minnesota Speedplant.

On-line ticket sales for all regular events and all special events except the 2008 edition of the Gopher 50 are on sale now. You purchase your tickets on-line at www.deercreekspeedway.com or by calling 1-877-DCS-RACE and ordering your tickets by phone. When ordering regular point’s night tickets, by ordering books of ten or twenty tickets you will receive an additional discount available by calling the office at 1-877-DCS-RACE.

With the hugely successful car show last year we are proud to again partner with Clements Auto of Rochester for the annual Deer Creek Speedway car show to be held at their facility on Saturday March 29, 2008 with more details to come.

The 2008 racing season is set to open Saturday April 5th with a 5:00 start time. The same five classes of racing action will return to the high banked speedway with the Amsoil Dirt Track Series featuring WISSOTA Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks and the powerful Late Models. Also the fan popular USRA Modifieds will be on hand for all regular racing events. The 5:00 start time will continue every Saturday night through the month’s of April and May including the first special, the May 24th Southern Minnesota Spring Challenge featuring the USMTS Modifieds, also on the card for the night will be the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds and the Super Stocks.

Starting with the event on June 7th we will move back to the summer hours start time of 6:00 and race regular events through the month of June. In July we start the month of specials with the Firecracker event on Saturday July 5th. This event will feature the Tri-Star Challenge Series for the WISSOTA Late Models as they race for the $3,000 first place prize. All four of the other weekly racing classes will be on the card for the night. Wednesday July 9th will be another Late Model event this time featuring the World of Outlaw Late Models, as they race for $10,000 and the Featherlite Gopher 50 event title with the USRA Modifieds racing as a support class that night. Deer Creek will follow up with a regular night on the 12th and on the 19th the Winged Warriors of the IRA Sprint Cars will take to the track for their Saturday night event. Another popular night of racing action will be held with the IRA Sprint Cars as they travel over 100mph chasing their $2,500 first place check. On the card for the night will be the USRA Modifieds and WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds. The rest of July and August round out our regular racing action with the point champions crowned on august 23rd. Deer Creek is busy working on their popular Drivers Free Month for all regular racing action in August.

August 30th finds the very popular Labor Day Dual with the World Dirt Racing League Late Models and the USMTS modifieds racing at the high banked speedway, with a 5:00 start time.

The final event of the season is the 3-day Featherlite Fall Jamboree featuring the USMTS Modifeds racing for the winners share each night. This hugely popular event draws hundreds of car from all across the United States and Canada with a huge crowd on hand each night. This is not only a race but a must see event for all modified race fans.
