The Iron Man Challenge shares the spotlight with the USMTS Modifieds this Memorial Day Weekend for a pair of high-powered events on Saturday and Sunday, May 26-27.

On Saturday, it's another colossal clash at the high-banked Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., for the 16th Annual A&A Electric Southern Minnesota Spring Challenge. The pit gate opens at 2 p.m. and grandstands open at 2:30. Slingshots race at 3 on Button Buck Speedway. Hot laps begin at 5:30 and racing starts at 6 p.m.

Holley USRA Stock Cars presented by Medieval Chassis and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods presented by Pace Performance will share the spotlight with the USMTS Modifieds with Wissota Midwest Mods in action too.

Adult general admission tickets are $20 and kids ages 12 and under get in for $5. The Deer Creek Speedway is a 3/8-mile high-banked clay oval is located 11.3 miles south of I-90 (exit 209) on US 63 or 0.7 mile north of SR 16 in Spring Valley, Minn. On Sunday, the 11th Annual Nordic Nationals presented by Weis Buick GMC takes place at the Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah, Iowa, and will see the Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods once again racing alongside the USMTS Modifieds with Cook Racing Supplies USRA Hobby Stocks on the card at the Winneshiek County Fairgrounds.

The pit gate opens at 3 p.m., grandstands open at 4, hot laps start at 5:45 and the first heat race hits the track at 6. General admission is $20, juniors (ages 11-16) are $10 and kids ages 10 and under are free. Pit passes are $35.

The Upper Iowa Speedway is a semi-banked 1/4-mile dirt oval located 1.8 miles east of US 52 on SR 9, then 1.0 mile northwest on Montgomery St., then northeast on E. Back in April, all three nights of the Summit Frost Busters were rained out, so competitors in the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods will be returning to the dirt for the first time since King of America VIII in March while Holley USRA Stock Cars drivers will will make their season debut.

There will be a complete show each night with competitors drawing for heat race starting spots. Feature lineups will be determined by heat race passing points with the top eight redrawing for first four rows of the main event each night.

Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points will be awarded both nights.

J.C. Morton of Springfield, Mo., sits atop the Iron Man Challenge Out-Pace USRA B-Mod points by a slim margin (282 to 279) over Cody Jolly. Kris Jackson is third with 273 markers, followed by Brian McGowen (238), Andy Bryant (237), Dale Kraling (233), Dan Hovden (216), Riley Whitworth (207), Jake Richards (201) and Dan Christopher (192).

Dereck Green (Holley USRA Stock Cars) and Dan Hovden (Out-Pace USRA B-Mods) are the defending series champions. Other former champs include Kyle Falck and Andy Bryant (2016), Tom Schmitt and Dakota Foster (2015), Mitch Hovden and Cory Crapser (2014), Mitch Hovden and Cory Crapser (2013), Tom Schmitt and Trevor Hunt (2012), Mike Van Genderen and Cayden Carter (2011) and Nathan Wood (2010). Out-Pace USRA B-Mods were not part of the first Iron Man Challenge season in 2010.
