305 Sprints added to Pepsi Scotland County Speedway Season Championship Night


MEMPHIS, Mo. -- The excitement keeps building for the 2006 Cunningham Fertilizer Season Championship Night at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, MO on Saturday, September 30th. Not only will the Bentz GM Country USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, Toni Dunker Advance Trading USRA B-Modifieds, USRA Hobby Stocks, Outlaw Hobby Stocks and Hornets being battling for the track championships, but the 305 Sprints will also highlight the evening.
 
Ryan Meyer of Liberty, IL currently leads the Bentz GM Country USRA Modifieds points and will be battling it out with Quincy, IL driver Michael Long for the 2006 Track Title. The 2005 Track Champion Tony Fraise of Donnellson, IA has a close battle with Des Moines, IA driver Mike Bennett for the third place points finish. Jared Durbin of Ft. Madison, IA will battle with Liberty, IL driver David Weitholder for the fifth place points finish. While Bob Dale of Gorin, MO, Mark Burgtorf of Quincy, IL, Martin Bennett of Ankeny, IA and Dennis Elliott of Mt. Ayer, IA look to remain in the top ten.
 
Jason Cook of Mt. Pleasant, IA will be in-line to defend his 2005 USRA Stock Car Track Title, as an eleventh place finish or better will give him the 2006 Track Championship. Matt Greiner of Washington, IA is second behind Jason. While Memphis, MO driver Troy Alexander will try to hold off Ryan Cook of West Point, IA for the third place finish in points. Mark Holt of Memphis, MO leads fellow Memphis driver Jeremy Hamlin for the battle for fifth in points. While Jody Small of Rutledge, MO, Steve Steinkuhler of Camp Point, IL, Chris Wibbell of Dallas City, IL and Brandon Elenbass of Memphis, MO try to remain in the top ten.
 
The 2006 Toni Dunker Advance Trading USRA B-Modifed Track Champion has already been crowned, as Tony Dunker of Quincy, IL has a 153 point advantage over Quincy, IL driver Jeff Waterman. Waterman will try and hold off Mendon, IL driver Joe Hooper for the second place finish in points. While Tom Bowen of LaBelle, MO, Jim Gillenwater of Keokuk, IA, Brandon Savage of Keokuk, IA, Jerry Poor of Novelty, MO, Jack Evans Jr. of Keokuk, IA, Larry Newman of Kirksville, MO and Josh Larson of Keokuk, IA battle it out for a top ten points finish.
 
Nathan Wood of Sigourney, IA looks to add to his impressive 2006 season, as he has already won track titles at the Southern Iowa Speedway (Oskaloosa, IA) and the Mt. Dew Bloomfield Speedway (Bloomfield, IA). Wood has to finish ninth or better and he will lock up his third track championship of 2006. Mike Shelton of Ottumwa, IA is currently second. Bill Gibson of Knoxville, IA is third, Oskaloosa, IA driver Jason VanZomeren is fourth and Rick Sands of Milan, MO is fifth. Robby Sands of Centerville, IA, Chris Hudson of Memphis, MO, Clayton Robbins of Liberty, MO, Mark Moore of Ottumwa, IA and Daniel Robbins of Greentop, MO look to remain in the top ten.
 
The 2006 Outlaw Hobby Stock Track Title has already been decided, as Beau Taylor of Canton, MO has a 120 point advantage over Keokuk, IA driver Rodger Dresden. But Dresden has a battle for second in points with Brian Clark of Kahoka, MO, Dresden and Clark are separated by two points. Jeff Soper of Kahoka, MO sits fourth in points. While Adam Birck of Canton, MO, Brian Howerton of Hurdland, MO and Michael St. Clair of Kahoka, MO have a close battle for fifth in points. Justin Hamelton of Hamilton, IL, Jim Lynch of Donnellson, IA and Jimmy Hooper of Wyaconda, MO battle to stay in the top ten.
 
Andrew Hustead of Rutledge, MO needs to sign into the pits and the 2006 Hornet Track Championship will be his. Brent Hartley of Niota, IL is second, followed by J.D. Murphy of Cincinnati, IA, Bill Young of Drakesville, IA and Cody Martin of Queen City, MO in third, fourth and fifth. While Brian Lemen of Cincinnati, IA, Jim Hamilton of Keokuk, IA, Matt Moore of Ottumwa, IA, Gordon Blankenship Jr. of Keokuk, IA and Tyler Schulte of Montrose, IA look to remain in the top ten in points.
 
The 305 Sprints have also been added to the card for Cunningham Fertilizer Season Championship Night. For the 305 Sprints it will be the second stop of the three race weekend at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway on Saturday. On Friday they will be in action at the Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, IA), then move to Memphis, MO before ending the weekend on Sunday at the Eldon Raceway (Eldon, IA).
 
To top the night of in fine fashion will be the lighting of the new MUSCO Lights. The crew has worked for two weeks putting up the new poles and lights, with the anticipation of having them lite on this evening. Fans, drivers and there crews will be amazed by the light improvement.
 
This will also give the drivers on last chance to try out the track before the 2nd Annual Pizza Hut Fall Nationals on October 12-14. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m., hot laps at 6:30 and racing to follow.
