USRA Modified drivers such as Jim Moody (00) and Tim Karrick (1k) are expected to compete for $3,000 during Central Missouri's Speedway's one-day program on Sunday, May 28.

Strong storms and heavy rains moved through the area Saturday afternoon forcing the cancellation of night one racing for the Memorial Day Weekend at Central Missouri Speedway (CMS). As previously announced earlier in the week by promoters Earl and Susan Walls, if Saturday was cancelled, the Saturday program would run on Sunday, May 28th instead and the Sunday portion would not take place.

CMS wishes to apologize to drivers in the Allstar Midget Series, ULMA Late Models and E-Mod classes. Both the Allstar Midgets and ULMA Late Models have additional appearances this year. CMS will look at options to possibly reschedule the E-Mods another time.

Unfortunately, Saturday was canceled and now the planned two-day event is trimmed back to a single-day program on Sunday; however, the one-day race is going to be a big one as USRA Modified drivers will compete in a straight up night of racing for $3,000 to win! Heat races with passing points and B-Main(s) will determine the 24-car starting field.

Pure Stock drivers will also compete in their annual track special event as drivers have a shot at the $500-to-win special event. Pure Stock drivers will qualify through heat races and a B-Main event if needed to get to the 24-car starting grid.

There are entry fees for both USRA Modified drivers and Pure Stock drivers. For Modifieds, the entry is $50 if the driver has raced twice at CMS in a USRA Modified prior to Sunday’s race, for drivers not meeting these criteria, the entry is $100. For Pure Stock drivers who have raced twice at CMS in a Pure Stock prior to Sunday’s event, the entry fee is $0, for drivers not meeting these criteria, the entry fee is $25. Pit passes are not included in entry fees. There are NO track registration fees for any classes the entire Memorial Day race weekend. Visit the CMS website at www.centralmissourispeedway.net.

Street Stocks, USRA B-Mods, and Midwest Mod Lites are also part of the program competing for their normal championship points and purse payouts. Start times for Saturday evening are, Pit Gates open at 4:30, grandstands at 5, driver pill draw closes at 6:15. Warning: late drivers will not be awarded passing points. The pit meeting takes place at 6:30, hot laps roll out at 7:00 and racing begins at 7:30. General admission adults $15, Military w/I.D. and Seniors 65 to 74 $12, kids ages six to twelve $5, five years and under are free, seniors 75 and older are also free. Seniors 80 and older may receive free pit admission courtesy of promoter Earl Walls, who recently celebrated his own 80th birthday in 2017 last April! All pit passes for the weekend are $35 per person.
