Kevin Blackburn and Jim Moody continued heating up USRA Modified action at CMS as the pair finished one-two in last week’s main event. Moody captured the first two victories to kick off the season, but over the last two weeks, Blackburn turned up the wick and captured victories, not surprising as he is the defending track champion.

Weekly racing traditionally begins to heat up each year and CMS is ready to host week number five of the championship season for Pepsi Night at the Races. USRA Modifieds and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods are set to return to action on Saturday, along with Street Stocks, Midwest Mod-Lites and Pure Stocks.

This Saturday marks the final night for USRA Modified drivers to add another weekly racing appearance to their season in preparation for the Memorial Day Weekend special events, featuring a $3,000 to-win USRA Modified main on Sunday, May 28. Drivers competing in at least two weekly race programs can save on their event entries on Memorial Day Weekend. For complete details on Memorial Day weekend, visit www.centralmissourispeedway.net and click on the “Memorial Weekend at CMS” tab.

In the USRA Modified division, Moody and Blackburn sit at the top of the early season points rankings attempting to gain the advantage in this highly competitive class of drivers. The Pure Stocks have been equally exciting on the track this year with Roger Detherage leading the points after he grabbed the feature win last weekend. Any number of drivers including Darrin Christy, Jason Ryun, David Doelz and rookie driver, Joey Harper have been near the top of the early season results.

Last weekend, Jacob Ebert of Oak Grove returned to victory lane for his second Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature win this year.

Just announced, CMS is in search of the ‘Master of the Q at CMS’ during this year's Tom Wilson Memorial BBQ Bowl on Independence Day Weekend. The Master of the Q will take home $500 for their winning BBQ. Master chefs should head over to the CMS Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Central-Missouri-Speedway and private message the track with their intent to enter the contest. Complete details are listed on the Facebook page and www.centralmissourispeedway.net.
