Memphis ready to rock this Saturday
MEMPHIS, Mo. -- The biggest season so far for RL Promotions kicks off this week with action on tap at all five racing facilities operated by the Webster City, Iowa-based organization, including the popular Memphis, Mo., speedplant.
Racing under the banner of the United States Racing Association, drivers at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway will be competing for unmatched year-end track and national points funds as part of the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series.
This week's exhilarating laundry list of heavenly high-powered excitement begins on Saturday, April 22, with the fourth attempt of the 2006 season for the drivers and fans at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, Mo.
Both the Inaugural Memphis Spring Nationals and the O'Reilly USMTS shows were rained out last month, as well as last Saturday's regular season opener.
Weather permitting (and the forecast looks good), this Saturday will kick off the season with USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks, Outlaw Hobbies and Hornets on tap at the 3/8-mile oval, along with the season's first appearance of the Super Late Models.
Gates will open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6:15 and racing to follow.
Tickets are $10 for adults while Juniors & Seniors are $7, with kids (ages 6-12) $3. Children 5 and under are admitted FREE.
The Pepsi Scotland County Speedway is located 1.0 mile west of Memphis on US 136 to SR 15, then east (at the Scotland County Fairgrounds).
