Cresco back in action this weekend
CRESCO, Iowa -- The biggest season so far for RL Promotions kicks off this week with action on tap at all five racing facilities operated by the Webster City, Iowa-based organization, including the popular 3/8-mile oval at the Howard County Fairgrounds in Cresco, Iowa.
Racing under the banner of the United States Racing Association, drivers at Cresco Speedway will be competing for unmatched year-end track and national points funds as part of the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series.
This week's exhilarating laundry list of heavenly high-powered excitement begins on Friday, April 21, as the Cresco Speedway will hold an open practice from 6-9:30 p.m. to give drivers and crew members an opportunity to get their machines ready for the 2006 season opener on Sunday.
On Sunday, April 23, The lights are back on at the Cresco Speedway with another action-packed season planned at the 3/8-mile Howard County oval.
This season will see the debut of the USRA B-Modifieds, which will be joined by the USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Hobbies.
Gates will open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6:15 and racing to follow.
Tickets are $9 for adults while kids (ages 6-12) are $4 and children 5 and under are admitted FREE.
The Cresco Speedway is located 0.2 miles north of SR 9 on SW 7th (at the Howard County Fairgrounds).
