The Road to Independence: Historical $100,000 week looms for USRA Iron Man Series
WEBSTER CITY, Iowa—The richest week of dirt track racing ever for Stock Cars and B-Mods in the State of Iowa (or anywhere else for that matter) happens Tuesday, June 28 through Sunday, July 3.
More than $100,000 in total prize money has been posted for the six nights of racing at five race tracks that will see the final main event take place on the eve of Independence Day.
The Road to Independence begins Tuesday, June 28, at the Frontier Speedway in Fort Dodge, and then on Wednesday and Thursday, June 29-30, the action happens at the Mason City Motor Speedway.
On Friday, July 1, the on-track fireworks move to the Fayette County Speedway in West Union, followed by a trip to the Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah on Saturday, July 2.
The sixth and final night takes place on Sunday, July 3, at the Cresco Speedway—just minutes before the 240th anniversary of the thirteen colonies claiming their independence from England.
All six events will be highlighted by the Iron Man Series featuring Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods.
At the Fort Dodge, West Union and Cresco events, Holley USRA Stock Cars will be racing for $750 to win while Out-Pace USRA B-Mod drivers get $600 to win.
During Mason City’s two-day Coors Light Silver Bullet Twin 25s, the feature winner in each division earns $1,000 to win Wednesday and $3,000 to win Thursday.
Saturday’s Hermie Halverson Memorial in Decorah pays $2,000 to win for Holley USRA Stock Cars and $1,200 to win Out-Pace USRA B-Mods.
Combined, that’s $8,250 to win the six Stock Car main events and $7,000 to top the B-Mod shows. What’s more, the payback in every event is spectacular from second place on back too.
