USRA Heartland Modified Tour unveils 2026 schedule

—The USRA Heartland Modified Tour (HMT) officially announced its 2026 schedule today, ushering in the third season of competition for the growing regional tour for USRA Modifieds. Following a 2025 campaign defined by a razor-thin points battle, the 2026 calendar is designed around signature race weekends, marquee venues and continued expansion across the Midwest.

The season will once again open with a two-night showdown at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas, on March 20–21. The Humboldt openers have quickly become a cornerstone of the Heartland Modified Tour, setting the competitive tone for the championship chase and drawing strong fields as teams begin the long road toward the title.

A notable addition to the 2026 schedule is Moberly Motorsports Park, which will host the tour for the first time on April 17. The new venue represents continued growth for the Heartland Modified Tour as it enters year three, adding a fresh challenge for drivers and expanding the series’ regional reach.

One of the most anticipated events on the schedule returns on May 22–23 with Joe Duvall’s Funkadelic Dirt Track & Honky Tonk Extravaganza, a fan-favorite weekend featuring a head-to-head showdown with the USRA American Racer Modified Series. The two-night event will see both tours battle each other at Arrowhead Speedway in Colcord, Oklahoma, on Friday night before moving to Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma, on Saturday, blending high-energy racing with a unique atmosphere that has quickly become a staples on both the HMT and ARMS calendar.

The heart of the summer schedule is highlighted by the July 4th weekend, beginning Thursday, July 2, at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. From there, the tour will migrate to I-35 Speedway in Winston, Missouri, for back-to-back nights on July 3–4, creating a three-night stretch that could play a major role in shaping the championship picture.

Late-season momentum will be critical as the tour heads into Labor Day Weekend, September 5–6, with a two-night event at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Missouri. The Labor Day doubleheader positions the series deep in championship mode as teams fight for valuable points in the closing stages of the season.

Core venues that have anchored the schedule the previous two seasons and are set to return to the 2026 schedule include Electric City Speedway, Nevada Speedway, SaltCity Racing, 81 Speedway, and Lakeside Speedway.  Valley Speedway returns after a one-year hiatus in 2025.

Special-event weekends slated for 2026, with full details currently being finalized include the Larry Phillips Memorial, tentatively set for June 19–20.  The marquee event will once again honor the legendary Missouri racer, with venue details and finalized dates to be announced. The season will culminate with Championship Weekend on October 23–24, where final plans are in development for what is expected to be a fitting finale to the 2026 campaign.

The release of the 2026 schedule follows a dramatic 2025 season that saw multiple drivers remain in championship contention until the closing events, underscoring the depth of competition and parity that continue to define the Heartland Modified Tour.

“The excitement and intensity of last season’s points race really set the tone moving forward,” stated series co-owner Trenton Berry. “Year three is about building on that foundation with marquee weekends, new tracks like Moberly, and special events that give fans and teams something to look forward to all season long.”

All dates are subject to change, with additional announcements regarding special-event formats and details forthcoming as they are finalized.
