Heroes honored as Hunter, Gillmore take Tri-State wins

POCOLA, Okla. (Sept. 11, 2025)—Tri-State Speedway was alive with speed and patriotism Thursday night for the inaugural Red, White & Blue Nationals "Salute to the Heroes Night", part of the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series.
In a night dedicated to honoring servicemen and women, racers battled it out on the dirt, delivering thrilling finishes in the USRA Stock Car and USRA B-Mod divisions.
In the USRA Stock Car main event, Brandon Hunter of Van Buren, Ark., celebrated a hard-earned victory. Starting from sixth, Hunter methodically worked his way to the front, taking the checkered flag in what was a highly competitive race.
H. Palmer of Muldrow, who started third, finished a close second. Kyle McAllister of Fort Smith, Ark., had a great race, moving from seventh to finish third on the podium. Rounding out the top five were Jeff Tennant of Greenwood, Ark., and Wesley Bourne of Rock Island, who made an impressive charge from 13th to land in the top five.
Ryan Gillmore of Springfield, Mo., put on a masterclass in the USRA B-Mod feature. Starting from the pole position, Gillmore led the race from flag to flag, showcasing a flawless performance that left his competitors vying for the remaining spots.
Dalton Ragsdale of Muskogee secured a solid second-place finish, putting up a strong fight throughout the event. Jon Sheets of Nevada, Mo., navigated his way to a third-place finish, and the top five was rounded out by Cody King of Fanshawe and Devin Barker of Elkins, Ark.
The night was a fitting tribute to the heroes, with high-speed action and close racing providing an exhilarating show for fans at Tri-State Speedway.
Friday is "Honor the Fallen Night" paying $5,000 to win for the USMTS Modifieds, and $700 for the USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods. Saturday is "Never Forget Night" with $20,000 going to the USMTS Modified main event winner. USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods will both be racing for $1,000 to win, along with Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks eyeing a $400 top prize.
