Combs, Yates score at Sandia

R.C. Combs won the USRA Stock Car main event.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (Aug. 3, 2025)—The Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series thrilled fans at Sandia Speedway on Saturday night, with action-packed feature races that saw drivers from Albuquerque battle for the checkered flag. The main events showcased thrilling passes and photo finishes as the best in New Mexico racing put on a show for the crowd.
In the USRA Stock Car feature, R.C. Combs of Albuquerque drove his No. 53 car from a third-place start to claim the victory. Craig Walker of Roswell held on for a strong second-place finish, while Danny Gross Jr. of Los Lunas rounded out the podium in third. Rick Boelter, also from Los Lunas, came in fourth, with Ronnie Leathem Jr. of Albuquerque completing the top five.
The USRA B-Mod feature was a tightly contested affair. Dee Yates of Albuquerque took the win, navigating his No. 15 car to victory lane. Ronald Frazier of Bosque Farms secured a solid second-place finish, followed by Joel Duke of Albuquerque in third. The top five was rounded out by Kyle Nanco of Grants in fourth and David Hand of Los Alamos in fifth.
