Fito Gallardo lights up Vado for MVT Fireworks Night victory

VADO, N.M. (July 12, 2025)—Fito Gallardo of Las Cruces delivered a spectacular performance, charging from seventh to capture the USRA Modified feature win during MVT Fireworks Night at Vado Speedway Park.

Cale Riggs of Hatch added to the excitement with a dominant win in the USRA Stock Car division, capping off an explosive night of racing.

In the hotly contested USRA Modified main event, Gallardo proved why he's a fan favorite, methodically working his way through a stacked field to claim victory. Following Gallardo to the checkered flag was John Neal Reid of Loving, who secured a strong second-place finish after starting third and leading the early ;aps pf the race.

Carlos Ahumada Jr. of El Paso, Texas, made a notable charge from tenth to claim the third spot on the podium. Pole-sitter Peyton Gallardo of Las Cruces held on for fourth, while the winner's son, Jake Gallardo of Las Cruces, made a remarkable ascent from 15th to round out the top five, demonstrating the Gallardo family's enduring presence at the front of the pack.

The USRA Stock Car feature saw Riggs deliver a powerful performance, driving to victory from the fifth starting spot. Riggs asserted his dominance early and maintained control throughout the race.

Hunter Sandy of Albuquerque finished second after starting sixth, showcasing his consistent speed. Sherman Barnett of El Paso, Texas, who started on the pole, secured third. David Garcia Jr. of El Paso, Texas, claimed fourth, and Jeramey Bradley of Odessa, Texas, completed the top five with a strong run from ninth.

MVT Fireworks Night lived up to its billing, providing thrilling on-track battles and a celebratory atmosphere, made even brighter by the fantastic racing action delivered by the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series competitors.
