Scott, McNabb shine on First Responders Night; Lindsey brothers dominate Tuners

AMARILLO, Texas (July 12, 2025)—Derek Scott of Canyon put on a commanding performance to win the USRA Modified feature, while Sammy McNabb of Amarillo showcased his prowess by claiming the USRA Limited Modified victory during First Responders Night at Route 66 Motor Speedway.

In a family affair, Teddy Lindsey of Canyon triumphed in the USRA Tuner main event, with his brother Austin Lindsey finishing a strong second.

In the USRA Modified feature, Scott started on the outside of the front row and quickly asserted his dominance, leading the field to the checkered flag. His win was a testament to his consistent speed and precision on the track, making it a memorable night for the local favorite.

A.J. Sharpensteen of Amarillo secured a solid second-place finish after starting on the pole, battling hard throughout the race. Justin Cox of Cache, Okla., charged from seventh to claim third, demonstrating impressive passing ability. Rounding out the top five were Sammy McNabb of Amarillo in fourth and Braden Elliott of Amarillo in fifth.

The USRA Limited Mod feature saw McNabb drive a superb race to take the win. Starting from the third position, McNabb navigated the field with skill to earn his victory. Brett Cummings of Fritch finished second, keeping the pressure on McNabb throughout the race.

Scott Groen of Dalhart secured the third spot on the podium, followed by L.J. Moore of Amarillo in fourth. J.P. Vasquez Jr. of Lubbock completed the top five, making a significant charge from ninth on the starting grid.

The USRA Tuners provided an exciting sibling showdown, with Teddy Lindsey emerging victorious. He was closely followed by Austin Lindsey, who finished second. Marcos Tobar of Amarillo claimed third.

The "First Responders Night" event honored the dedication and bravery of local first responders, with thrilling races providing the backdrop for a night of appreciation at Route 66 Motor Speedway.
