Nelson storms Cedar Lake for Month of Money victory

NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (July 12, 2025)—Cade Nelson of Hermantown, Minn., put on a masterful performance at Cedar Lake Speedway on Saturday, overcoming a fifth-place starting spot to win the USRA Late Model feature during the highly anticipated Month of Money presented by Blaine Brothers.

Nelson’s drive to the front was a clinic in precision and speed, as he navigated through a competitive field to claim the top prize. The victory adds a significant highlight to his season and solidifies his reputation as a formidable force in the USRA Late Model division, especially at a track known for its thrilling, high-speed action.

Lucas Peterson of Stockholm, Wis., who started from the pole, put up a strong fight, finishing second after leading early in the race. Peterson's consistent run ensured he remained a contender throughout the feature.

Rounding out the top five were Patrick Kletschka of New Richmond, who charged from ninth to finish third, demonstrating impressive car control and strategic driving. Larry Fitzsimmons of East Bethel, Minn., also made a significant move forward, climbing from 11th to fourth. Completing the top five was Cooper Sundby of Menomonie, who held his ground after starting fourth.
