FAIRMONT, Minn. (June 6, 2025)—Friday night’s 10th Annual Great Bike Giveaway at Fairmont Raceway combined thrilling Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action with community spirit, as 75 lucky kids won bicycles in a heartwarming giveaway. The event, presented by KS Engineering and Misgen Auto Parts, drew a lively crowd to celebrate both racing and generosity.

In the USRA Modifieds feature, Roger Nielsen of Fairmont led wire-to-wire to claim the victory, fending off Don Gerritsen Jr. of Rock Rapids, Iowa, who finished second. Lee Beemer of Fairmont took third, followed by Dustin Wiederhoeft of Fairmont in fourth and Josh Ruby of Lakota, Iowa, in fifth. Nielsen’s win was a crowd-pleaser, with the hometown hero dedicating the victory to the young fans who received bikes.

The USRA Stock Cars feature saw Luke Sathoff of Jackson take the checkered flag after a dominant performance. Ben Petersen of Swea City, Iowa, secured second, with Chance Larson of Welcome in third. Malayna Johnson of Winnebago and Cade Lehr of Fairmont rounded out the top five. Sathoff credited the bike giveaway for adding extra motivation to his run, thrilling the enthusiastic crowd.

Klay Beemer of Fairmont dominated the USRA B-Mods feature, holding off Ty Griffith of Blairsburg, Iowa, for the win. Jeff Carter of Mapleton took third, followed by James Richert of Comfrey and Jayden Oskerson of Fairmont in fifth. Beemer noted the track’s fast conditions allowed for intense racing that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

In the USRA Hobby Stocks feature, Jeremy Wegner of Greattinger, Iowa, led from the start to secure the victory. Jeremy Crimmins of Fort Dodge, Iowa, finished second, followed by Parker Anderson of Welcome in third. Gavin Bussinger of Granada and Jonathon Hynes of Winnebago completed the top five. Wegner praised the event’s festive atmosphere, with the bike giveaway adding joy to the night.

The USRA Tuners feature saw Nate Coopman of Mankato take the win, edging out his father, Jerry Coopman of Mankato, in a family showdown for second. Slade Fitzgerald of Sherburn took third, with Dale Gatton of Fairmont in fourth and Brandon Hartmann of Fairmont in fifth. The Coopmans’ one-two finish was a highlight, with Nate calling it a memorable moment for their family.

The 10th Annual Great Bike Giveaway was a resounding success, blending competitive racing with community goodwill as kids left with new bicycles and smiles. The event underscored Fairmont Raceway’s commitment to family-friendly entertainment.

Fairmont Raceway returns to action Friday, June 13, with Cancer Awareness Night featuring the USRA Hobby Stock Scuffle powered by PRS Transport, Commodity Services, and Hy-Vee. USRA Hobby Stocks will compete for $1,500 to win and $175 to start.
