Nelson gets Cedar Lake gold

NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (May 31, 2025)—Cedar Lake Speedway hosted an action-packed Saturday night of racing for the Weekly Racing presented by Tjader & Highstrom, featuring the USRA Late Models in a thrilling Feature event that saw fierce competition and standout performances.
Two-time and defending USRA Late Model national champion Cade Nelson of Hermantown, Minn., charged from the sixth starting position to claim the top spot in the Feature, securing a well-earned victory. Finishing second was local driver Patrick Kletschka of New Richmond, who started on the outside of the front row and held strong throughout the race.
Lucas Peterson of Stockholm, Wis., another two-time national champ, took third after starting in the third position, while Kory Ressie of Alma, Wis., battled to fourth from the seventh spot. Rounding out the top five was Patrick Kelley of Wyoming, Minn., who led early after starting on the pole but settled for fifth.
The night featured intense heat races, with Nelson, Larry Fitzsimmons of East Bethel, Minn., and Peterson each claiming wins to set the stage for the Feature.
Local drivers Kletschka and Kody Koski of New Richmond also impressed, finishing strong in their heat races to earn solid starting positions.
