Big Daddy’s Funkadelic Dirt Track & Honky Tonk Extravaganza pits ARMS vs. HMT this weekend

GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (May 20, 2025)—Joe Duvall’s Funkadelic Dirt Track & Honky Tonk Extravaganza returns May 23 and 24 for a two night, two track showdown, featuring the USRA American Racer Modified Series Presented by Day Motor Sports and the USRA Heartland Modified Tour Presented by Real Racing Wheels.
Now in its seventh year, the annual event is one of the most anticipated on the dirt racing calendar, bringing together the best Modified drivers from two regions for a high-stakes battle across two of Oklahoma’s most iconic tracks.
“We’ve been doing these shows for several years now and they’ve become a lot of fun,” said Duvall. “I get a ton of support locally and bring everybody together for a fun weekend. I appreciate Arrowhead and Salina taking these on. We’ve got a lot in store for the racers and fans this weekend. We’d love to see huge crowds both nights!”
Both events are a labor of love for Duvall. He ties his name to the event and drums up the support, working with close contacts developed from over forty years of racing. His financial gain is zero. The motivation is merely the love of racing and successful events, that drive him to continue pushing these forward.
The weekend kicks off Friday, May 23, at Arrowhead Speedway in Colcord. The tight, 1/3 mile semi banked clay oval delivers edge-of-your-seat action and an electric fan atmosphere. Racing continues Saturday, May 24, at the high-speed Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, where steep banking and a wide surface put drivers and equipment to the test.
In 2024, Chad Wheeler scored a win for HMT at Arrowhead, while Duvall himself answered back with a victory for ARMS at Salina. With pride and points on the line, the rivalry returns in full force.
Brandon Givens leads the HMT points, with the top ten separated by just 115 points. On the ARMS side, Gary Christian is showing the way, with the top 10 only having 69 markers between them.
