Dais, Michehl, Bronner, Smith top Mason City opener

Myles Michehl won the USRA Stock Car main event.
MASON CITY, Iowa (April 27)—The Pritchard Family Auto Stores Mason City Motor Speedway kicked off the 2025 season with an electrifying evening on Sunday at the 1/3-mile high-banked clay oval.
In the USRA Modifieds, rookie racer Harley Dais of Winona, Minn., led all 15 laps of the feature, securing a commanding victory by more than three seconds over Al Hejna of Clear Lake. Tyler Grooms of Trenton, Mo.; Josh Ruby of Lakota; and Todd Stinehart of Waseca, Minn., completed the top five.
Myles Michehl of Fort Dodge took control of the USRA Stock Car feature, leading the final 11 laps of the 20-lap contest to claim the win. Mason City drivers Travis Shipman and Kevin Opheim rounded out the podium while Cresco's Jason Schlangen and Brandon Hare of Elma rounded out the top five finishers.
Kaeden Bronner of Austin, Minn., showcased his prowess in the USRA B-Mod feature, taking the lead on lap 3 and holding it for the remaining 17 laps to secure the victory. Taylor Skauge of Caledonia, Minn., and Josh Appel of Garner followed in second and third. Front-row starters Ben Moudry of Protivin and Bryer McCoy of Webster City wound up fourth and fifth, respectively, at the finish line.
Manly's Zac Smith charged to the front in the USRA Hobby Stock feature, taking the lead on lap 6 and leading the final 20 laps to earn the win. Zack Smidt of Mason City and Jeremy Crimmins of Fort Dodge completed the top three while fourth was Carter Koop of Rockwell. Former USRA Tuner National Champion Oliver Monson of Thornton was th fifth driver to see the checkered flag.
The next event is “May The 4th Be With You” featuring the Iron Man USRA Stock Car Series on Sunday, May 4. The Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series will return with USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks, USRA Tuners and Outlaw Mini-Mods.
