VADO, N.M. (April 27)—The Vado Speedway Park hosted a thrilling night of dirt track racing on Saturday as part of the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featured intense battles in the USRA Modifieds and USRA Stock Cars.

In the USRA Modified feature, Jake Gallardo of Las Cruces—the 2015 USRA Modified National Champion—charged from the seventh starting position to claim victory over Stormy Scott, also of Las Cruces, finishing a close second.

Christy Barnett of El Paso, Texas, was third. Ricardo Olague Jr. of El Paso, Texas, made an impressive run from 27th to fourth, while Royal Jones of Las Cruces rounded out the top five.

After Sandy was black-flagged, Cale Riggs of Hatch took second, followed by Zach McCoy of Las Cruces in third. Devan Smith and Mark Morris, both of Las Cruces, completed the top five.

The event captivated fans with its high-energy action and competitive racing, reinforcing Vado Speedway Park’s status as the premier dirt track racing venue in the Southwest.
