Show-Me State in focus for Hearttland Modified Tour

Following a two-week hiatus, The USRA Heartland Modified Tour presented by Real Racing Wheels fires off again this weekend with stops three and four. Randal Schiffelbein Jr. swept the two opening shows at Humboldt Speedway and leads the points early on.

Electric City Speedway in Butler, Mo., opens the weekend Friday night. A late summer event last year, Electric City wowed fans and drivers alike. This will be the track's first show of the year, having lost last weekend due to rain.

“We were excited to bring the Heartland Tour in last year,” said track promoter Gary Clark. “After the show they put on last time, we're even more pumped to have the tour back. It should be a great night and it's cool we open our season with them.”

Saturday's stop sits 122 miles north as the I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo., will hold it's first HMT event of the year. Last season, Tyler Hibner and Tanner Mullens won stops at the Johnson family's house of power.

“We’re excited to be hosting the Heartland Modified Tour Saturday night,” said track owner Mike Johnson. “Join us at 6:00 p.m. for high powered modified racing action at the legendary I-35 Speedway.”

“Both of these places are great,” said series partner and director Erick Chesterman. “They both jumped right on with us last year and we had great events and a lot of fun. It's neat to be going back again.”

For the racers in attendance, series partner Bryke Racing, based in Lincoln, Ark., will be at both stops this weekend if you need parts, or want to learn more about what they offer. The shop can be reached at 888-834-4358 should you need anything delivered for the weekend.
