The USRA Heartland Modified Tour presented by Real Racing Wheels kicked off Night 1 of the Whitworth Spring Classic at Humboldt Speedway on Friday, with Randal Schiffelbein Jr. delivering a dominating performance in the 30-lap main event.

Schiffelbein, of Berryton, started third but quickly took command, fending off challenges to claim the victory at the 1/4-mile high-banked dirt oval.

Hot on his heels was Shadren Turner of St. Joseph, Mo., who started second and maintained a strong pace to finish as the runner-up while Wichita's Wyatt Gaggero rounded out the podium, starting sixth and earned a third-place finish.

The rest of the top 10 saw intense competition with Brandon Givens securing fourth, followed by Dustin Hodges. Ryan Middaugh, Chase Sigg, Tad Davis, Dean Wille and Jason Pursley, who completed the top 10 after a remarkable climb from the 20th starting spot.

Schiffelbein's second career HMT victory capped a thrilling night at 'The Hummer' and setting the stage for Night 2 of the Whitworth Spring Classic on Saturday.

The weekend pays tribute to the Whitworth family, long-time owners of the iconic facility. They got into the racing business in Humboldt back in 1990 and owned the facility for over 30 years, retiring and selling the speedway following the 2021 season.

FOE Enterprises currently owns the race track and racing icon John Allen calls the day to day shots.
