Rob Moseley won the USRA Stock Car main event.

The Vado Speedway Park came alive under the lights on Saturday night for the final round of the USRA Winter Meltdown featuring the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series. The event showcased fierce competition across the USRA Modified, USRA Stock Car and USRA B-Mod classes to the delight of the New Mexico crowd.

Carlos Ahumada Jr. of El Paso, Texas, claimed victory in the USRA Modified feature, starting third and holding off a late charge from Mark Smith of Anthony, who rocketed from ninth to finish second.

Rodney Sanders of Happy, Texas, rounded out the podium, climbing from seventh to third and avoiding a near catastrophe on the final lap.

Hunter Sandy of Albuquerque bounded back from a runner-up finish on Friday in the USRA Stock Car feature, leading from the pole position to secure the win.

The hard charger of the night, however, was Josh Cain of Rio Rancho, who stormed from 19th to finish second but falling one spot short of a second straight win.

Eric McNutt of Las Cruces completed the top three, holding steady after starting second.

In the USRA B-Mods, Rob Moseley of Los Lunas emerged victorious in the feature to mirror his Friday night triumph, starting second and fending off Hunter Sandy, who finished second after starting fifth. Sandy also wound up the runner-up in both features the previous night.

Mike Rosales took third, maintaining a strong run from his third-place starting spot.

The Winter Meltdown underscored Vado Speedway Park’s reputation as a hotbed for dirt track racing, blending veteran skill with emerging stars.
