Czarneski, Sandy shine in Southwest Stock Car Showdown finale

Cole Czarneski won the USRA Stock Car feature during the final night of the Southwest Stock Car Showdown at the Sandia Speedway in Albuquerque, N.M., on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The Sandia Speedway roared to life on Saturday night as the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series concluded its Southwest Stock Car Showdown with an electrifying Day 3 finale under the New Mexico sky.
In the USRA Stock Car feature, Cole Czarneski of Denmark, Wis., delivered a stunning performance, charging from 12th on the grid to claim victory and the $10,00 top prize.
Finishing second was Josh Cain of Rio Rancho, who led early from the pole position but couldn’t hold off Czarneski’s late surge.
Brett Berry of Hays, Kan., rounded out the podium in third after starting 13th, capping a strong weekend with a podium finish in the No. 10 machine.
The USRA B-Mod feature brought its own brand of excitement, with Hunter Sandy of Albuquerque emerging victorious after starting eighth. Sandy’s climb through the field highlighted his local knowledge and tenacity.
Rob Moseley of Los Lunas secured a hard-fought second place after starting sixth, while Peyton Gallardo of Las Cruces completed the podium in third, holding strong from the second starting spot.

The Southwest Stock Car Showdown’s final day delivered everything fans could hope for: daring passes, strategic racing, and a showcase of talent from across the region and beyond. With Czarneski and Sandy etching their names atop the results, the Sandia Speedway faithful left buzzing about the thrilling conclusion to the three-day spectacle.
The USRA continues to bring high-octane action to dirt tracks nationwide, and this event was no exception.
