ARMS opener in the crosshairs

Thursday night the quest for the 2025 USRA American Racer Modified Series presented by Day Motorsports comes to life. The opening round of the season will commence from the Heart 'O Texas Speedway in Elm Mott, Texas, located just north of Waco.
This event will serve as the lead in to a huge Modified weekend, featuring the USMTS on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Several drivers will be vying for the ARMS crown and $7,500 accompanying check, handed out at the Hochatown Saloon in November, but none have had a better two year run on the tour than Justice, Okla., veteran Joe Duvall. The back-to-back champion is ready to make more noise in 2025.
“I’m pretty excited for this season to start,” said Duvall. “Over the winter I focused on my health a lot more than I have in the past and have a lot more strength than I’ve had in a long time. Texas is a good state to start the season off in with their climate and abundance of throttle smashers.”
Duvall also liked the new look to begin the series, with a single late week show.
“It’s cool to have a regional type race the night before USMTS. It takes me back to my professional motorcycle racing days. We always had regional races the night before a grand national event.”
He has a good crew riding with him all season long as well.
“The names on my cars are friends of mine I’ve forced into helping my racing program. It wasn’t at gunpoint, but their arms were twisted tighter than a banjo string. I have a couple new names helping the program. Gocke has put together a couple of awesome hot-rods for me to drive, like they belong to my ex brother in law, and that sucker owes me money.”
Thursday's show will pay $2,000 to win, with hot laps slated for 7:30 PM and racing to follow at 8:00 PM.
The American Racer Modified Series Presented by Day Motorsports would like to thank their 2025 season partners.
