Six USRA promoters named ARPY finalists

Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton has again been nominated for Region 5 Promoter of the Year and the 49th annual Auto Racing Promoter of the Year Award.
“It’s an honor and privilege to make the list again this year for Region 5 Promoter of the Year and ARPY award and to be included with so many top-notch people and speedways,” Lorton said. “It’s a tribute to our tremendous speedway team and our outstanding Lucas Oil Speedway fans.”
In all, six different USRA track promoters have been nominated.
81 Speedway (Park City, Kan.) promoter John Allen and I-35 Speedway (Winston, Mo.) promoter Mike Johnson join Lorton in the Region 5 balloting.
In Region 4, Cole Queensland and Queensland Family from the Deer Creek Speedway in spring Valley, Minn., along with Bob Timm from the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., are also nominated this year.
Royal Jones from the Vado Speedway Park in Vado, N.M., is nominated in Region 6.
The winners will be determined in online voting. Fans invited to vote online through midnight Feb. 1. Votes must be submitted in each region, otherwise the ballot will be rejected.
