Rain forces cancellation at Hancock County Speedway
BRITT, Iowa -- Severe rain and storms moved through north Iowa on Friday (May 21) forcing the cancellation of racing at the Hancock County Speedway in Britt. The Powder Puff that was scheduled for the night will be rescheduled at a later date.
This week Memorial Weekend, race fans will be able to begin and end the long holiday weekend at Britt on Friday and Monday night.
Friday night is the Jennifier Steinlicht “Friends of Racing Memorial” sponsored by Schroeder Racing Products, Iowa Falls and the Steinlicht Family. Anyone that has lost a loved one and would like them mentioned in the pre race memorial tribute, should submit the name of the lost loved one and the relationship (friend, mother, father, son, daughter, wife, husband etc.) to the person(s) presenting the name. Names may be submitted via email: hcspeed@ncn.net or submit the name on race night at the souvenir stand or the at the line up board in the pit area before hot laps.
All classes will be racing on Friday with regular show, points, pay and admission prices.

Monday, Memorial Day May 31 is the STOCK CAR SPECIAL sponsored by Manufacturers Bank & Trust of Forest City, Crystal Lake, Lake Mills, Clear Lake. Some of the best Stock car drivers in this area will be competing for the $1000 prize. All classes will be competing with the stock car division the featured class. It will be for points in all classes with a draw, redraw format for all classes. No entry fee except for the stock cars, which is $40 and includes the drivers pit pass. Pit pass is $20. There is an adjusted payout in all classes.
Pit gate and grandstand will open at 4:00 Hot laps 6:00 Races 6:30. NOTE THE ONE HOUR EARLY START TIME. Grandstand admission is Adults $10.00 6-12 years $3.00 5 & Under FREE.
