Tanner Mullens won the USRA Modified main event.

Saturday night was the culmination of an entire season's worth of racing for both the drivers and staff of the USRA Heartland Modified Tour presented by Real Racing Wheels. The I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo., hosted the series for the second time this year.

Twenty-seven cars signed in for Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action with $2,000 on the line.

Tanner Mullens started third and tolled the high side while Tyler Hibner led early. Mullens slowly reeled him in and the duo were in close quarters for a handful of laps.

Mullens eventually grabbed the lead and rolled away to the win.

His track performance also was big for the final points standings as well. He moved up from seventh to fourth with the win. It was his second VP Racing Fuels checkered flag of the season. His first came earlier in the year at the Caney Valley Speedway.

“It feels good,” said Mullens, in Victory Lane. “I think he (Hibner) was relying on that grip on the bottom, and I was too tight to stay down there. I got to the top and tried to run with momentum the best I could. I was still a little free getting in, and got a little bit to more to work on for sure.”

Hibner was the runner-up for the second night in a row, showcasing great speed and poise all weekend.

Brandon Givens rounded out the top three and also locked down third in the overall points.

Houston Johnson was fourth and a newcomer to the Modified division, Shadren Turner, finished fifth.

Saturday's race marked the conclusion of the season. The post-season party will take place Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Hochatown Saloon in Hochatown, Okla.

A $32,000 points fund will be distributed, along with a great meal and concert from red dirt country music artist Stoney LaRue. More information is forthcoming.

2024 HMT Points Fund: 1. $7500, 2. $4500, 3. $3500, 4. $3000, 5. $2500, 6. $2400, 7. $2300, 8. $2200, 9. $2100, 10. $2000. Note: 80% attendance required for points fund eligibilitie.

Saturday was Domestic Violence Awareness Night at the I-35 Speedway with multiple fans taking home raffle prizes.

Kristchon Hisel parked his USRA Stock Car in Molle Auto Group Victory Lane. This was his third feature win this season.

In the USRA B-Mod feature it was a battle of brothers as Lucas Isaacs had to hold off his brother, Ethan Isaacs, to secure his second feature win this season.

Next Saturday night, Oct. 26, is the final night of racing for the season.

Tyler Hibner has a 192-point lead on Houston Johnson in the USRA Modifieds. Nic Hanes is the points leader in the USRA Stock Cars, leading by 118 points over Corey Myers. Both have clinched their division titles.

Chase Moulton leads the USRA B-Mod points by 73 over Mark Anderson, who is mathematically still alive if Moulton fails to show up next Saturday.

Thank you to all the race fans that came out for another exciting night of racing. We had 108 cars total and completed our last feature race at 10:15 p.m.
