RULES & PROCEDURES
This event is sanctioned by the United States Racing Accociation and all USRA rules apply. USRA national points awarded each night with 100 bonus points awarded for the event to each driver. Draw for heat line-ups. Passing points each night determine feature lineups. The top 6 each night are locked into Saturday's A-Main. RACEceivers and MyLaps transponders (red ones) are required and available for rent or purchase at the track.
The Lucas Oil Speedway has a top-shelf staff, but all safety personnel are there for the safety of the drivers and unable to determine rough driving or other judgement calls. Track officials will be in place at each corner at a minimum to help make calls. The flagman has a black flag and will use it.
The Summit USRA Nationals brings the best tech inspectors in the country. When you leave pre-tech, they will inform you of items, if any, that need to be fixed. If you have questions about any rule(s), stop in the tech garage and ask questions questions? You can call or text USRA Tech Director Darlo Mulder (515) 835-9946.
The pits will be open to the public all day every day until the pits are cleared. Tuesday is reserved for parking and on-track practice from 6-9 p.m.
All drivers will race in an A-main each night on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Each A-main will have up to 30 starters (for rxample, if there are 90 cars there will be three A-mains for that class). Up to 15 drivers with the most passing points will draw for starting spots in the A-main for their class. The remaining cars in passing points will line up behind those starters. The top two (2) finishers in each A-main will be locked into Saturday's Championship Feature for that class, so a total of six (6) or eight (8) cars in each class will be locked into the Championship Features on Saturday.
On Saturday, racers who are not qualified for the Championship Feature will use points earned from their best two nights of racing to line them up for Saturday's "alphabet soup" of Last Chance Races. Points will be based on your two best nights of racing including heat races and A-main(s), giving drivers that cannot possibly make each night the chance to come later in the week.
USRA License Required: Remember, you must have a USRA Competitor License in order to partake in the Summit USRA Nationals. Temp licenses will not be available. Save yourself some time and have that done before the event. Register for your USRA license at https://usraracing.com/register.
Bonus Points: Each driver in attendance at the Summit USRA Nationals will be awarded 100 bonus Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points in their class. Other USRA-sanctioned racetracks may race this weekend, but no USRA track, regional and/or national points will be awarded to USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks or USRA Tuners. From Sept. 17-21, the Summit USRA Nationals at the Lucas Oil Speedway is the only way to earn Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points.
