Jackpot sprint series at Britt this Friday
BRITT, Iowa (July 23, 2002) - Rookie Dustin Lindquist brings a tenuous hold on the top spot to Hancock County Speedway this Friday night, for the next installment of the Jackpot Junction Tour for I.M.C.A. Sprint Cars.
The 17-year-old from Floodwater, Minn., has a one point edge in the current series standings. Heā??s coming off a ca-reer-best second place showing in the most recent series race.
Scott Broty heads the pursuit of Lindquist, while defending series champion Bruce Defries and Dave Heskin are just four points off the pace. Heskin has three top-four finishes through the first four events.
Completing the tight top six are Lynn Woods and Bob Hildreth.
The July 26 event is also the 50th in the five-plus seasons the Sprint Car series has been held. Previous feature winners at Britt have been Kent Winters of Butterfield, Minn., in 1998, Terry Reilly of Watertown, S.D., in 1999 and 2000, and Curt Lund of Redwood Falls, Minn., in 2001.
Hot laps are at 7 p.m. and racing is set for 7:30 p.m. The Sprint Cars will join I.M.C.A.-sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks, and the limited 360 modifieds and econo stocks on the program.
