Night of 1,000 Stars shines Aug. 8 at Hancock Co. Speedway
BRITT, Iowa (July 15, 2002) - One racing star will shine the brightest, at the Night of 1,000 Stars at Hancock County Speedway in Britt on Aug. 8.
Winner of the Thursday night feature event for I.M.C.A. Sunoco Modifieds earns at least $2,000.
All drivers winning their heat races qualify for the dash. The driver who wins that event is eligible for an additional $1,000 if they elect to start at the back of the feature field and win that race as well.
Another $900 will be paid in lap money for the 30-circuit main event and special events contingencies will be awarded.
The eighth annual event, presented by Harris Auto Racing, is I.M.C.A.-sanctioned and all I.M.C.A. rules will apply. The feature pays a minimum of $200 to start.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the draw closes at 6:30 p.m.
Hot laps start at 7 p.m. and racing is at 7:30 p.m.
Entry fee is $75 by Aug. 1 or $100 after that date.
