Officials from the Mississippi Thunder Speedway are thrilled to announce the inaugural USRA North Star Nationals, set to take place Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 5-7. This marquee event will feature stiff competition in Summit USRA Weeekly Racing Series classes including USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks.

The unique format features two qualifying nights. Two features will be contested per preliminary night, per class. This will set the stage for the Saturday night main events and allow for the maximum amount of cars to gain USRA national points throughout the event.

With the season's conclusion drawing near, this promises to be a can't-miss show for drivers seeking valuable USRA national points.

The stout payouts for each class are the shining star of the weekend.

The USRA Modifieds will race for a $10,000 prize to win Saturday's feature winner with no less than $700 to start. USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods will each compete for $3,000 to win on Saturday with $500 start money. A top prize of $2,500 will be up for grabs in the USRA Hobby Stock feature, with $300 to start.

Eco-Mods will also compete on Friday only. USRA Late Models will get a chance to race Saturday night.

Bob Timm, owner of Mississippi Thunder Speedway, expressed his enthusiasm for the event.

“We are incredibly excited to host the Inaugural USRA North Star Nationals," Timm said. "This event represents a new chapter for our speedway, bringing together some of the best in dirt track racing. In addition to the racing action, the USRA North Star Nationals will offer a variety of off-track activities including a DJ in the hospitality area on Thursday night, a live band on Friday night, and family-friendly events such as a cornhole tournament and a Punt, Pass & Kick competition on Saturday. Fans can also enjoy breakfast and lunch served at the main concession throughout the event.

Tickets for the North Star Nationals will be available next week, with special pricing for three-day passes. More information regarding tickets, entry fees, camping, full schedule of events, payouts and more will be available starting Tuesday, Aug. 6.
