Jaylen Wettengel, won the USRA Stock Car main event.

The Lakeside Speedway hosted Nextran Truck Center Night on Friday with two famiiar faces taking the wins in Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action.

Jaylen Wettengel, Robert Garst and Kacey Shields won the USRA Stock Car heats and were in the hunt for the feature win. Garst took the early lead only to see Wettengel thread the needle and take over the front and bringing Shields with him to compete.

Brent Fielder flipped wildly in turn one, reducing his race car to scrap but he came out of the car unhurt.

Wettengel and Shields put on a show of epic proportions for the fans, racing side by side with one high and one low on the fast, smooth racing surface.

2023 track champion Darrin Schmidt challenged both Wettengel and Shields for position throughout the feature but could not find a way around. Rodney Schweizer was in the hunt for the front as he and Chris Dishong battled.

Wettengel picked up the feature win, making it two in a row with Shields a close second and Schmidt third. Fourth belonged to Schweizer with Dishong a close fifth.

Tim Karrick, Aaron Marrant and Kerry Davis won their heat races, setting the stage for the USRA B-Mod feature. Karrick took the lead early only to see Marrant motor by with teammate Chad Clancy with him.

Marrant held the lead with a battle of the Clancy brothers—Chad and Stephen—did battle.

Marrant claimed his second victory of 2024 at Lakeside Speedway with Chad Clancy a close second and Stephen Clancy third. Karrick ended the feature fourth with Davis rounding out the night’s top five in a caution-free feature.
