The USRA B-Mod class at Lakeside Speedway is second to none with heavy hitters, champions, former winners and legends of our sport throughout the field.

Tim Karrick had a very fast car every race of 2024 and this night was no different as he picked up a heat race win and started up front for the feature.

Other heat winners of Jake Richards and Shadren Turner, who chased Karrick for the front.

Karrick would drive a flawless race, holding the top spot as Turner moved to second with Kerry Davis racing his way to yet another top five as Chad Clancy mounted a charge.

Karrick proved skill and determination parking in Nextran Victory Lane with Turner a close second.

Third saw Davis with Clancy fourth and Richards fading to finish fifth.

Heat race winners in USRA Stock Cars were Rodney Schweizer,  Kasey Sheilds and Jaylen Wettengel.

Schweizer followed up his heat race win by charging out front, and appeared to be the car to beat as the rest of the pack followed.

Racing two- and three-wide, Wettengel raced fast and furious, challenging Schweizer with Sheilds in the mix.

As Shields made a move on Schweizer up top, contact sent Sheilds hard into the wall and collecting several competitors with Aiden Ayers ending up on his top.

All drivers were unhurt, but there was heavy damage to the cars as the ensuing restart saw a lot of action.

Wettengel got by Schweizer taking over the lead as Brent Fielder came from deep in the field to challenge with one of the more impressive runs of 2024.

Last turn of the last lap, Fielder made his move and passed Wettengel to claim his first USRA Stock Car win of 2024 at Lakeside.

As Fielder celebrated the win, Wettengel placed second with Schweizer slipping slightly to finish third.

Last year’s track champion, Darren Schmidt, raced to place fourth with Chris Dishong rounding out the night’s top five.
