Vado Speedway Park's Winter Meltdown opens ARMS campaign this weekend
A new era for the USRA American Racer Modified Series Presented by Day Motorsports begins this weekend at Vado Speedway Park in Vado, New Mexico. The series breaks new ground in the state of New Mexico as well, visiting Royal Jones' state of the art facility.
Friday's winner will receive $2,000, with $3,000 going to Saturday's victor. These will both be full point standard events, with Saturday seeing a purse increase over the standard ARMS event purse.
Joe Duvall won the series championship last year and has always held fond memories of Vado Speedway Park.
“I love pulling onto the facility and all the amenities right there,” said Duvall. “It's not often we get to pull into a facility that's just a few years old. Every time we go back there's a little bit more added. It's like Royal's playground. One night a few years back I went 26th to seventh, and that has stuck with me about racing there. Plus the green burrito is off the charts, it's worth it's own standing ovation.”
Thursday night will feature practice for competitors beginning at 6 PM. Vado Speedway park is located just off of Interstate 10 between Las Cruces, New Mexico and El Paso, Texas.
Both events will be streaming live on RacinDirt.tv or on the RacinDirt TV app.
