CRESCO, Iowa -- Mabe's Pizza and H & S Motors, of Cresco, welcomed drivers and fans to the season finale at the Cresco Speedway in Creso, Iowa. The IRA Bumper to Bumper Sprint Car series was in town, along with Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, and Stock Cars.

The IRA Outlaw Sprints took to the Cresco oval for their time trials first. Three cars topped the old track record, with Brian Brown setting the new mark with a fast lap of 13.485 seconds, for a top speed of 106.785 mph.

Street Stock heat wins went to Mitch Hovden and Dillon Anderson. Hobby Stocks were next with heat wins going to Tory Reicks, Jeremy Moellers, and Shay Curtain. Kenny Taylor walked away from a nasty crash in the second Hobby Stock heat, as he got his car sideways out of turn four, hit the front stretch wall, and rolled in the front stretch.

Stock Car heat wins went to Tom Schmitt, Shawn Peter, and Lynn Panos. Mike Bergan walked away uninjured after he rolled his car three and a half times in turn one of the first Stock Car heat. IRA Outlaw Sprint Car wins went to Scotty Neitzel, Raymond Hensley, Kurt Winker, and Todd Hepfner. The Sprint Car B Main winner was Kerry Madson.

Street Stockers were first to the track for their A Main event. Mitch Hovden and Dillon Anderson battled all year for the points championship, and the feature race was no different. The two battled side by side, with Anderson having a slight advantage, and Dan Kohnen hot on their trail. Anderson held the lead until midway point, when he got loose in turn four, allowing Hovden to gain the top spot. Hovden held on for his first ever feature win. Kohnen finished second, followed by Anderson, Lee Nuehring, and Robbert Malli.

Tom Fink opened an early lead in the Hobby Stock A Main event but a whole handful of other drivers also had sights on the top position. Tory Reicks, the season's point champion, took over the top spot on lap seven as cars battled three-wide down the front stretch. Lapped traffic added to the already tight racing, and by the time the dust settled, Reicks picked up the win, followed by Jeremy Moellers, Jeff Larson, Steve Holthaus, and Fink.

Tom Schmitt had a strong second half of the season at Cresco, as he had picked up six feature wins in the Stock Car class. That experience pushed him to the lead early in the feature race, and he held off Brian Gjere, Shawn Peter, Kevin Bidne, and Darrin Walch for the win.

Ricky Logan found the Cresco oval to his liking once again as he used he front row starting spot and led every lap to pick up the IRA Bumper to Bumper Outlaw Sprint Car feature event. Logan was also last year's feature winner. Skip Jackson and Brooke Tatnall, both Australian natives, finished second and third. Collin Northway and Kerry Madson rounded out the top five in an extremely fast and exciting feature race.
