Mid-Season Championships set for Saturday at Springfield Raceway

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Mid-Season Championships are set for this Saturday night at the quick quarter-mile Springfield Raceway with outstanding point races going on so far.

Action will feature the USRA RHS Modifieds along with five other classes.

The original schedule called for the Battle of the Badges, but due to scheduling conflicts that event will be rescheduled later as law enforcement personell race to raise money for different causes.

Drivers will be lined up based on their current total points with the heats inverted. The high points drivers will be in the first heat at the rear while the second place driver in points will start tail back in the second heat and so on.

Drivers will still have to race their way in to grab their starting spot just as we do on normal shows. This provides excitement to the races and has meaning to the heat races.

Grandstand gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6:15 and racing at 7. Pit gates open at 4 with the drivers meeting at 5:50. Cars are to hot lap in their own class.

General admission is only $10 for adults while kids ages 6-12 are $5 and under 6 are free. Pit passes are $25.
