NEI Mod Tour heads to Cresco Speedway June 26, $500 to win
CRESCO, Iowa (June 17, 2002) - The Northeast Iowa (NEI) Mod Tour will run their first race of 2002 on Wednesday, June 26, 2002. The event will kick off the exciting Mighty Howard County Fair Wednesday, June 26th through Sunday, June 30th in Cresco, Iowa. Also on the scheduled line-up for June 26th will be the $1,500 to win Late Model Invitational.
The NEI Mod Tour will feature some of the best mod drivers in Northeast Iowa fighting for the $500 top prize. Each driver who starts the A-Main will earn $100. The program will be a draw/redraw format, and there will be no provisional starts awarded. A twenty-five dollar car registration fee will be required, and a quick driver info sheet will need to be filled out prior to competing. The form is available on the NEI Mod Tour web site (www.RaceRPM.com) for printing. Teams can print it
off, fill it out prior to arriving at Cresco Speedway, and speed
up the sign-in process. The basic rules for this event will be $525 claim or exchange on motor ($25 to wrecker), no aluminum heads or blocks, McCreary G60 tires only, 2450# weight rule, Burt/Brinn Transmission add 50#. Visit the NEI Mod Tour web site

See the best Late Model and Modified drivers from the Tri-state area on the all-new high-banked speedway. The Late Models battle
for a $1,500 top prize, and the modifieds battle for a $500 top prize. ALSO in competition -- Weekly points awarded for Hobby Stock and 4 Cyl. Hornet classes. There will be a $25 car entry fee for the Late Model class as well. The late Model rules on June 26 at Cresco are as follows: IMCA Spec motor can run one open carb; Open motor must run one 390 cfm carb Gasoline only; 2400# with driver; McCreary EC2 tires only.
The Pit Gates open at 5:00 PM and the Grandstands at 6:00 PM on June 26th. Hot Laps will start at 6:45 PM with racing to follow
