KELLYVILLE, Okla. -- Matt French won a torrid battle with Leroy Cook to win the USRA RHS Modified main event Saturday at Creek County Speedway. Cook led the race for 13 laps until the yellow waved for a stalled car. On the restart, French challenged Cook and the two ran door handle to door handle for two laps before French finally edged ahead for his third win of the season. Cook ended up with second.

Jonathan Beason of Broken Arrow swept the field in the USRA Champ Sprint division. Beason, making only his second start of the season at CCS, won his heat race then quickly moved into the lead with his pass of Kevin Cummings on lap 5. Beason pulled away and worked his way through lapped traffic for the win. Cummings was a distant second.

The Dylan Koyn Open Wheel Benefit takes place next Saturday, May 21, at CCS. The $20,000 event will feature USRA Champ Sprints, Injected Sprints, E-Sprints and SOWS Midgets. Smiley Sitton's Outlaw Driving School will have their two-seater sprint at the track and will give away a ride to one lucky fan.
