Due to the discovery of several illegal carburetors this past weekend in the USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Car and USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mod classes at various USRA-sanctioned tracks, USRA officials are reaffirming the current carburetor rule.
Excitement at the Springfield Raceway just turned up another notch as Saturday night will feature lawn mower racing presented by Bad Boy Mowers at intermission on the karting track, along with the Speedway hosting Shriners Night.

Persistent rain, cold and all-around miserable weather has forced Huset’s Speedway officials to cancel the event for Sunday night, June 7. Racing will resume next Sunday, June 14, with all five classes in competition. That evening will also include the make-up feature from the rain-shortened event on May 31.
The quick quarter-mile of the Springfield Raceway lived up to its reputation with fast and tight racing action all night long Saturday as a winning streak came to a end. The USRA Modified feature was a nail-biter and provided a dramatic last-lap finish.
The Freedom Series will take place July 3-5 at the Chateau Raceway, Deer Creek Speedway and Dodge County Speedway with $1,000 up for grabs each night to the USRA Modified feature winner.
For the fourth week, race fans were treated to some awesome and close racing action sponsored by Crop Services of Drakesville. All five weekly classes took to the always fast 3/8-mile Bloomfield Speedway for Fast Track Friday action.
Defending USRA Modified track champion Jamie Ragland took advantage of his front row pole position in leading all 20 laps and capturing his second feature win of the season. Ragland had to withstand early challanges from Rustin Miller, then had a hard-charging Eric Hudson to overcome.
USRA Modified driver Jess Folk Jr. took over the lead from Darren Fuqua on lap 7 to take home the hardware Friday night at the Humboldt Speedway. Fuqua was able to hang on to the second spot.
