Rains doom events at Mississippi Thunder Speedway
FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. - Persistent rain and storms all day Friday left little to be desired for racing action at Mississippi Thunder Speedway.
Promoters called off racing early in the day, foreseeing no possibility of sneaking the racing in between showers.
Friday’s sponsor, Harley-Davidson Shop of Winona, will return Friday, Aug. 14, as the night’s sponsor which will include 600cc Pro flat track bike races. In addition to the bike races, all spectators riding to the track on motorcycles will receive a $2-off admission coupon at the gate. Additional free prize giveaways are in store and many motorcycles will be on display from Harley-Davidson Shop of Winona.
Friday, Aug. 21, will be the return of the USMTS Modifieds in a $3,000-to-win event. This race is included in the Hunt for the USMTS Natioanal Championship, which should bring in many drivers from all over to compete.
Three points nights await drivers and fans as we return to Mississippi Thunder on Friday, Aug. 14, for a regular night of racing.
