A hot and humid day with overcast skies greeted the fans and drivers at the speedway today. The race was on not only on the track but also to get the show in before the storms hit. Races were completed at 9 p.m., and by 10 the campground gathered in the storm shelter as tornado warnings sounded.

Things looked good through the mid afternoon hours for the Chateau Raceway to get a complete show in this week. However, the warm and humid conditions were condusive for thunderstorm activity and the area was under a tornado watch as racers and fans filed into the facility.
The event has been rescheduled just a few weeks out for Tuesday, July 13. Grandstand tickets and pit wristbands will be good for that night. If you are unable to attend that night, your other option is to use it Aug. 20 for the USMTS “Hunt” race.
