Rains drown Mississippi Thunder Speedway show
FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. - The USMTS indeed stormed into Mississippi Thunder Speedway for a $2,000-to-win event on Friday, June 25, but they blew right back out after the three USMTS Modified heats were complete when heavy rains engulfed the track several hours earlier than predicted.
Also on hand to compete were the USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods, plus Street Stocks and Mini Mods.
The event has been rescheduled just a few weeks out for Tuesday, July 13. Grandstand tickets and pit wristbands will be good for that night. If you are unable to attend that night, your other option is to use it Aug. 20 for the USMTS “Hunt” race.
The Fourth of July Weekend will kick off early at Mississippi Thunder with the first Street Stock Summer Nationals event featuring Street Stocks and Late Models on Thursday, July 1. Also added to the card will be the USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods and Midwest Modifieds. Both classes will run together, however, and cars must be legal in their particular sanction (for example, USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods cannot run Hoosier tires).
The following night, Friday, July 2, is sponsored by Joe Provo Race Wear. The Dart Late Model Challenge Series cruises into town for a $3,000-to-win show. Also competing will be USRA RHS Modifieds, Street Stocks and Mini Mods.
