Several specials highlight 2022 season at Chateau Speedway

Temperatures are warming up, Spring has officially arrived and the 2022 racing season is just around the corner at Chateau Speedway.

Track officials have been busy during the off-season working on the schedule for the new season and several specials will highlight the new schedule.

Along with the new schedule the track also announced a change in the class lineup during the off season. Joining the weekly lineup will be the Medieval USRA Stock Cars.

Along with the Medieval USRA Stock Cars, the track will be featuring the USRA Modifieds and USRA B-Mods again this year competing for Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series track, regional and national points, along with Midwest Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Hornets.

Drivers will get a test and tune session on Tuesday, May 3, before the real racing gets started.

The season will start off with one of the biggest openers in track history with a two-night weekend.

On Friday, May 6, the season will open with the James Krejci Memorial. The 1987 Hobby Stock track champion, Krejci passed away last year and will be remembered on the season opener.

That will be followed up Saturday, May 7, with the USRA B-Mod Summit Shootout Qualifier. The two nights will feature the Medieval USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods along with Midwest Mods, Pure Stocks and Hornets.

The USRA Modifieds have some big specials on the weekend so the track took them off the schedule for the first weekend to give them the opportunity to chase the bigger purses.

They will return the following week and for the rest of the season with their high-flying speeds.

The month of May will also mark the return of the USMTS on May 27.  The high-powered Modifieds will visit the track on the second night of their four-day swing through the region on Memorial Day Weekend.

The night will also be used for the announcement of the six members who will make up the third class of the Chateau Speedway Hall of Fame. Induction for the new members will be June 24.

The Aug. 19 program will feature the yearly spectacular fireworks show, and drivers will wrap up their quest for a season championships on Friday, Sept. 2.

Two big specials will bring the season to an end on Sept. 9 and Sept. 16. On Sept. 9 it will be the 25th anniversary running of the Spirit of 83 Memorial with what will be the 24th running of the Mike Guttormson Memorial USRA Modified feature.

On Friday, Sept. 16, the season wraps up with the Medieval USRA Stock Car Summit Shootout Qualifier.

The Chateau Speedway is tentatively scheduled to host a Frost Buster event April 23, a mid-season event July 9 and the last two events of the year Sept. 24 and Oct. 18.

Support classes for all specials will be announced as the season progresses.
