USRA Director of Track Operations Bryce Hall, in conjuction with RacinDirt.com, recently spoke with 2020 USRA Late Model National Champion Lucas Peterson to discuss this past year in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series and what lies ahead for the 38-year-old from Grand Meadow, Minnesota.

This was the fourth straight year that a national champion was crowned in the USRA Late Model division, and for the second straight time the honor went to Peterson.

Peterson found the winner’s circle four times in 2020 at the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin, where he captured the track championship. His four wins wound up being the tie-breaker for the track championship with James Anneliese settling for second place.

In his 23 starts, Peterson added 8 top-five and 18 top-ten finishes to his four triumphs. The 38-year-old will pocket more than $1,000 for his efforts, as well as contingency awards from several generous USRA marketing partners.
